  2. Instead of using "ipconfig /displaydns | clip" then pasting into a notepad.
    Use ipconfig /displaydns > %userprofile%dns.txt
    > will output the result of ipconfig /displaydns to a txt file.
The location of the txt file will be dependant on where you are in the CMD termial.
If you have C:Windowssystem32> displayed the file will be in C:Windowssystem32

  3. ipconfig is a program not a command. All of these snlookup, getmac, powercfg, chksdk, sfc, dism, tasklist, taskkill, netsh, ping, tracert, netstart, route are programms. Of course the video is nice if you call them with /h you will see each of them their help and how to use them. This video is a nice educational video for beginners who never touch the dos, or they weren't born when the real dos exist. The real built in dos commands are: md, cd, rd, copy, ren, del, cls, dir, mv, sys, device, files, buffers, set, goto, exit, grep and there are many others that are missing from latest windows. In fact many real dos commands were removed since windows NT, because the whole dos was removed. This cmd you run is a command prompt (Console like program again. It was a cheap replica of Linux console but it is not a real dos). There is a program simulation that simulates the real dos, with name "DosBox". It is lower level dos. But if you want a real dos, create a new partition and install the MSDOS 6.2. You reminded me some memories back in 1984 when I was typing a console command to create an autoexec.bat file (I do not know if even you know about this) and how to set the config.sys. I used the command copy con autoexec.bat. There wasn't any editor and you typed everything instant from the dos and if you wanted to save the file you pressed the F6 and the ^Z symbol was signed and you opened the file on the fly.

  4. The netsh and route commands are more useful than you might realize. If you use VPN software to connect to a work VPN, netsh and route in a script to adjust network routing tables and network priorities to regain access to your local network. Instead of sending 100% of network traffic through the VPN, the majority of the traffic continues to go through the local network except for things only available via VPN and that traffic is specifically siphoned off to the VPN. The result is being both connected to the VPN and the local network at the same time on the same machine. The main caveat is that your local home network has to be on a completely different subnet from the VPN subnet (e.g. 192.168.* vs 10.*) and sometimes the routing tables will have to be adjusted. The hosts file might have to be modified as well for common DNS requests to get everything working. Also, those commands require local Administrator rights, which a lot of organizations disable but software devs tend to have those rights.

  5. Hello Sir, Heris American Megatrends Click-Bios in my (MSI) system And i forgot Bios Password , Please help me how can i reset my bios password. Is there any way to reset it through command line interface

  6. Chkdsk will F up your SSD. Stay away from it altogether. Especially, if you are experiencing data loss. Back up what you can to a new HD and toss the old. HDs are cheap – data isn't. If you've lost important valuable data, take the drive to a forensic expert to recover it. Using chkdsk can ensure you will never recover that data.
