8 Steps to Making Your Blog Successful – Passive Income Online Blogging

If you want to make a passive income online blogging, then are 8 techniques that you must master.

Are you tired of working on something you don’t love? Well, why not generate an income through blogging.

Step #1: You need to pick a niche. The niche should be something you are passionate about or else you will eventually quit.

Blogging doesn’t make you a passive income fast, it can take 6 to 12 months. Hence you should be passionate about the subject you are blogging about.

You can also use Google Trends to see if your niche is small or big.

Step #2: Sign up for fast web hosting is often overlooked by bloggers, but is a very important step if you hope to make a passive income online blogging.

Bluehost is usually the easiest one to get started with as it has a one click “WordPress” install. Once you install WordPress, you can then select a free design.

With a fast website, you’ll be able to get more sales and this means you’ll start to make a passive income online blogging.

Step #3: Sart writing content. Make sure you are writing content that people want to read. If no one wants to read your content you won’t do well. So before you start writing, come up with topic ideas and ask others what they think.

When writing your content make sure you create an appealing headline. 8 out of 10 people will read your headline, but only 2 out of 10 will read the rest of your content.

If you are wondering how to create an appealing headline, check out the Copyblogger headline formula.

Step #4: Outline your content before you start writing. Think of your high school English class. From the introduction to the conclusion to the body, outline your content.

A few more tips to follow are that paragraphs shouldn’t be longer than 5 or 6 lines, you are using the words “you” and “I” as well as including subheadings. This makes your content skimmable and more enjoyable to read.

Make sure you ask a question at the end of your conclusion as this will help encourage comments.

Step #5: Link out to other blogs. When you are writing content you have to link out to other people to cite your sources. This ensures your content is credible.

Step #6: Write 1 to 3 times a week. Being consistent is important or else your blog won’t grow. Try to blog 3 times a week if you have the time.

Step #7: If you want to be a successful blogger who makes a passive income online, then you need to know how to get readers back to your blog.

You can use the free tools Hello Bar and Subscribers. These two tools will get people coming back to your blog on a regular basis.

This will make it easier to monetize your website in the future.

Step #8: Monetize your blog. You have multiple options when it comes to making money. You can try Google AdSense, which is ads Google puts on your blog.

You can test out affiliate links through Clickbank. In which you get paid every time you promote someone else’s products or services and you drive a sale.

For fresh residual income opportunities, you can create your own products or services. From things like selling clothes if you have a fashion blog to creating an ebook around a pain point your readers are facing the possibilities are endless.

Or you can do all three if you would like. And that’s how make a passive income online blogging.

  1. Hi Neil, I read your blogs often, I can see you include a lot of very cool graphs, step by step images and infographics, my question is how to create these?

  2. The other question is, you recommend to always add pictures to your blog I have done that the issue is the speed gets affected, how can I optimize images so that the speed remains fast without being affected by the number of images, and how many blogs do you recommend per one website?

  3. Hey Neil,
At the end of your videos, I've usually scribbled down so many notes (because of the awesome content) and then I need to organise my notes into relevant sections… actionable notes.
It would be helpful for me (possibly for others?) if you've the pertinent points from your videos (I'm sure you do!) summarised in small/bite-sized infographics with the key take out points (like your blog structure) to save/share/pin on other networks like Pinterest / LinkedIn / Facebook etc Or will that dilute your youtube traffic/auto-play scroll to the next video and you're not cross-pollenating between your channels in that way?
(Awesome content by the way… I'm an advocate and huge fan of your work!)

  4. In the book The Greatest Quotes of All Time, right there on page 8, will be Neil Patel with his inspiring maxim: "Don't be a prick." In 100 years they will shake their heads in amazement and wonder to themselves, "Why can't people like this guide us, in our hour of darkness." Thank you, Mr. Patel. Thank you.

  5. Your videos are damn too good, thanx.

Bro, can you give few tips on political blogs? I like politics and want to start blogging about it, looking forward to get a quick and complete reply 🙂

  6. For the past 3 days, I've been binge watching your channel. I'm learning so much. Once my blog is complete, I'm putting everything I've learned from you to the test. I will be back in a few months with an update.
