With one, simple request to Alexa, I can deploy lab machines to Proxmox, AWS, and Linode with Ansible!! I’ve automated my entire lab creation process!! In this video, I’m going to tell you an automation story, a tale of how I tried to automate everything and….went a little crazy in the process. But it was amazing and honestly…kind of addicting. I’ll also show you how you can automate your lab as well.

And NetworkChuck does it again! ❤️😁
Switch to Mycroft.
never heard that theres too much documentation before haha
I was saying 'nmap' out loud in this video lol
I use Ansible for my DevOps with CI/CD 🙂
Ansible and Jenkins are my career. It really is an addiction
Was it a paid promotion with Redhat 😉
You're insane. I want to do it too.
Hi NextwokChuck, I have been following you. You do a great work. I work for NextPCB. We would like to sponsor your projects. You can send a DM for more details.

Hey, could you do something on Monitoring and backup? Pleaaaaaase????
Why didn't you just set quemu guest agent, so proxmox would've been able to see the ip
Now i need to do that with my gym routine, let's see how long i will need to automate it bc's im lazy 😂.
did anyone else realise he was going to use nmap before he said it😂
What the🤣🤣🤣
Very nice video Chuck tahnk you !
If I can give you a little opinion, next time add a little more time to the end of video so we can have the time to read the notification and get a "wahou face" like yours 😉 and wait a bit before adding the "NetworkChuck" logo, otherwise it hides the content of the screen 🙁
Seen a few of your videos and overall a fan, but this one seemed a bit click-baity (sorry)… I was really keen to understand more about how to use Alexa to automate other IT tasks, hopefully get a basic overview of creating a skill, etc… But you spend about 5 seconds on this, simply saying: "Alexa uses Zapier which runs some python code" (great! 🙄)
😂
Is not about the time you spend try making, the thing is about the puzzle.
God, I love IT!
Another way to do this is to create Ubuntu server template that has CloudInit integrated into itself. Then you can define static IP by modifying cloudinit parameters. I use that to populate IP and SSH key.
Bro, your wife is pregnant again? Are you trying to catch up with me on how many kids you have? I'm at 7… You're at… what 5? 6? You're catching up. I'm going to have to up my game and have a couple more to stay ahead. LOL
Congratulations.
As alternative to nmap you could have used arp-scan but everyone their own. 😉 I like ansible but provisioning resources on my XCP-NG cluster or in the cloud I like to use terraform more as it holds a state file and takes care the state is always as expected on an apply. your playbook with randomized name will always create a new VM with everyrun. If I would want to setup an automation job to take care that my infrastructure is always how I expect it it wouldn't work.
Super good work
That was freaking awesome on a whole new level. I'm gonna try this!
Would it be possible with ESXi?
I really wanted to advance on my current career. I have been into a Helpdesk or Service Desk for 5years and it seems nothing is happening. To the point I wanted to change career. I really wanted to learn the skills that you have, so at least before I retire I can say I achieve something.
now you need to connect to computer via computer-brain interface and just think about creating a VM
Without vm I literally changed 5 os's first the pre-installed windows 7 then by flashing I installed windows 10 then pop os(linux) didn't work, installed kali linux(didn't work) about to die laptop without any os, installed windows 7 back😂
7:10 🤣🤣
You could have used terraform to retrieve the IP using the unifi_user data source
Best intro in the history of YouTube
just start using nix already
So pinging the hostname of the new VM doesn't work to get the IP?
need this))
@ networkchuck I need help I tried to change my administrator password when i went away for a funeral to keep everyone out of my important information and when I got back I can't get in the password I thought I changed it to is wrong and I don't know what to do I need help it's windows ten the hello pin was set up but both pin and password are wrong and I'm not getting a reset password option I'll show you it's not for any bad purpose or anything I can prove it's my computer and show id everything I just don't know how to fix this and I have very important stuff I need access to
I see, another little Chuck Girl/Boy incoming! 😀
Congratulations 😛
Make a video about the certifications you have network chuck?
The next level would be having Alexa speak and tell you that your VM is ready. Only then is it really complete.
Hey Chuck, would you be able to do a video using pi-hole and Unbound? Thanks!
you're a genius, funny and energetic chuck . I mean come on look at me now from nothing to something bigger just because of your tutorials. all your videos are clear, funny and catchy. you deserve more than just credit bro. thanks for being there,
