How to look good on zoom with glasses. If you have glasses you know that a lot of times you can see the computer screen reflected and whatever light you have lighting you. Whether you call them reflections or glare, the truth is they suck because it’s distracting and hides your eyes.
In this video, I’m going to teach you why glasses create glare and how to understand the light so you can set up light that makes you look better for zoom calls, video conferences, and online teaching without the reflections.

I would like to see the same demo with non-reflective (polycarbonate) lenses. I wonder if the handle of incidence is as important. Also to note with ring lights is that it projects a reflection on the pupil. It is highly distractionary to see round white circles in a rounded pupil.

Gia’s no nonsense cheerful attitude is very contagious. And yes, I have come your very useful first video.
I like that you mentioned that if you get X amount of support and likes, you can get ”monetized,” which is only fair, for providing a free service. (I knew that happened somehow, but never knew what it took.)
Your videos that are very nicely paced and professionally done. Though you make it look effortless, I know there is a lot of your hard work behind the scenes to achieve this. Your effort is noted and appreciated.
Although its 18 months after you produced this, YOU are Awesome!!
thanks for this Gia. Really enjoyed watching you! Great energy!
What a joyful experience it was to watch this! I got the information I needed and I had SO MUCH FUN doing it.
Love your energy. I have a glasses iss. I'm a grandma, and wear progress (bifocal) lenses. I can't see well on video chat unless I tilt my head back and look down. And even then not great.
It is awkward and I look weird. Is there any help for this? TY!
Thank you, Gia. I pointed my 10" ring light at the ceiling and got rid of the glare on my glasses! I am new to online teaching and this really helped me!
Thank you for being so authentic. Thank you for the information, which was helpful.
Love the tips!!!
Your mess is not so bad compared to mine. I have 6 baby chickens living with me right now so, my mess is far superior lol
Damn I just bought a ring light thinking it would cut down on the glasses glare in my computer. Thanks for the info! Subscribed!
You're awesome – thanks so much!
Love the video! Great lighting info for ppl like me with glasses.
Thank you. 🤓
I like how instructional this video is. It is not just tricks and tips but I understand what is actually happening now!
i love your videos ..inspired me to start my Diva'stwocents. Please see and give me constructive criticism regarding the lighting you refer to…thanks a million Diva M (yeah it is my real name:))
Let's all get some contacts! 🙂
Omg, this is perfect, great explanation and tips. Thanks a lot! ❤
104K followers! Congratulations girl! 🌟✨🌟
You are a joy to listen to and a total badass! Awesome info too. You just found yourself a new subscriber with the ringing bell.
Love your freckles.
I really feel like your genuine interest is helping me do better on screen so I feel better about being ther. THANK YOU
YOU JUST SAVED MY LIFE! Thank you for this. I have a job interview tomorrow and need glasses to see the screen. I spent about 2 hours finding the perfect place in front of a window and then finding a way to prevent the reflection in my glasses. (which means I have to remember how to angle my head and NOT look up!) I did pretty well (I'm a graphic designer so I understand a bit of the theory you taught), but now that I know if I block the light from the window, I can cut the glare even more. LOVE the content. You're great! Love the pep talk at the end. Hugs to you!
First, I think you are amazing. I stumbled on you randomly and am so glad I did. But here is my question, what if like me, you dont have a window and you are up against walls?
Loved the video and your energy. I continue to learn about the lighting and image I project. Thank you! Go girl!
Gia, I just came across your videos. I tutor online all day and had multiple lighting issues. I say had because since I saw your videos and made a few adjustments I no longer have those problems. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!! BTW I immediately subscribed to your channel. Keep the videos coming!
Over 10 minutes before she says 'keep the glasses angled down or away from any bright lights behind the camera'. Consistently slow info flow.
will the information for laptop lighting work for a desktop or all-in-one?
Thank you so much for your tips and encouragement. You are a joy to watch and I deeply appreciate the help. Blessings to you and yours.
My cat would not like the window blocked
Thank you so much for taking the time to teach this concept. I have been struggling and now I know I have the knowledge! My glasses will no longer be the hinderance they have been!
Gia, the information you share is so helpful! The BIG bonus though, is your personality!! Happy go lucky, enthusiastic, and great attitude! Your love for teaching make your videos so engaging! 💛💛💛
Thanks Zoom for the recommendation! Thanks Gia for the super helpful content – every best wish.
You are so lovely and helpful and humorous. Thank you, I LEARN SO MUCH FROM YOU!
Thanks so much! I watched this last night and NO GLASSES GLARE on my first ever Zoom workshop today! (And I had a giant window with the BRIGHT afternoon sun as my backdrop)
Hi: I am very happy that I found you! As you can see for my pic I am not a "millennial" 🙂 and I need all the help I can get to make the best of my computer skills 🙂
Question: Do you have any tips for "FB pagers" ?
Thank you Gia! See you next video 🙂
Lucia.
How do you get a great looking zoom view without having a big window to sit in front of? Is it better to have artificial light behind, infront, or above your face/computer screen? I have problems with shadows and my face looking dark and having shadows on my neck that almost looks like I have multiple chins. Not good! Thanks Nic
good onya love, really enjoyed your video, thank you love your honesty too… we are always a work in progress :}
Gia…your energy and vulnerability is captivating. Great advice, incredibly delivered. I agree with Ian, the world needs more Gia's and so glad you're ratings and subscribers has rocketed..!
Gia, You're awesome. You were all in my head. Every time I get on Zoom all those voices start up. Thank you
I love how hyped she is in this video about getting to 6,000 subscribers in 2021 and now in 2022 she’s at over 105,000 subscribers.
Congrats 🎉
Great energy, great content, love it!
You're amazing, Gia. Thank you for your leadership, authenticity, and vulnerability.

Regardless, it still seems you need a light source if you don’t know when you’ll be hosting zoom meetings, day or night.
Thank you for the information. Great explanation of how to position light source.
So much info and Gia is so clear with her instructions!
