Jon is a farmer from northeastern Thailand. He founded the Pun Pun Center for Self-reliance, an organic farm outside Chiang Mai, with his wife Peggy Reents in 2003. Pun Pun doubles as a center for sustainable living and seed production, aiming to bring indigenous and rare seeds back into use. It regularly hosts training on simple techniques to live more sustainably. Outside of Pun Pun, Jon is a leader in bringing the natural building movement to Thailand, appearing as a spokesperson on dozens of publications and TV programs for the past 10 years.   1. Yesterday I ate at his restaurant which uses all the vegetables he grows.
    The food is delicious and not expensive. The restaurant is called PunPun ( พันพรรณ )
    It is located inside the Suan Dok temple, (วัดสวนดอก เชียงใหม่ )in Chiang Mai city. I am always surprised how few customers there is at this wonderful little resturant.
    Please if you visit Chiang Mai I recommend you try PunPun, the Temple also has some very beautiful big halls which are lovely to see too.

  2. Life could be simpler for a lot of people. But the reason people are trying to get smarter is not just making things more complicated. We have to get smarter to solve problems like cancer and build accessibility for disabled people. Not everyone can just live off the land. People are building complexities because the world is complex and has complex problems. That is not to say we shouldn’t try and figure out how to live happier simple lives, but know all our problems won’t disappear if we all went back to that kind of lifestyle
