  1. While I am impressed with what I've seen with FPGA replication, I still feel it's at odds with genuine hardware, as while you can recreate the chipsets of these systems you can't fully recreate their 'soul' ie. the idiosyncrasies of them running on their original PCB and og PSU's etc.✌️

  2. I admire the work you guys are doing, but let's get realistic. The MiSTER is WAY overpriced, and WAY underpowered. You can pick up an i3 mini computer with 16 GB or ram, 2 TB, and the ability to run over twice as much. I wish you guys put the same time, and effort into something that made more sense. You're looking at dropping 300 bucks into the ability to play up to Mega CD? Come on. A 129$ Celeron off Amazon is hands down a much better investment. With RetroArch, you have pretty much the same control, but WAY much power, and WAY more cores. What you guys are doing should have been done in 2007 The cores you guys described will run on a 35$ garbage box. The Mister is cool, but it's not worth the money. Not at all. (I'm assuming you guys are Canadian…."BiAHS"?? Kinda drove me nuts every time I heard it. Seriously. The mass of your audience will be fine with a 119.99 Android based

  3. When was this video made?? The mister console support is in a very good place? It's over a decade behind literally everyone. I emulate PS3 games beautifully on a system less than half the price. The MiSTER has "Missed" the target. 10, 15 years ago? Sure. I'm honestly disappointed that you guys would put the time and energy literally worshipping a system thats 3 times the price, 3 times slower, twice as old, and supports a fraction of the games….You're totally steering people into old, outdated, and obsolete information.

  4. Whoa, I had the same experience you described with audio nostalgia, except it was for the second order filter at 1:34:08!! That’s sooo weird. What is that that it feels like? Perhaps a specific VHS deck, presumably one without the VHS hifi decoder.

    But.. wow! I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a Mister for a while now, but for whatever reason I think that audio filter part might’ve just been what pushed me over the edge….

  5. About the USB situation, it's just one controller with 4 outputs, right?
    Doesn't that mean that normal USB hubs with external power supplies would work just fine?
    Have anyone tried?

  6. Huh., software emulation is in fact harder due to the parallel nature of hardware, even worse when you get to things like the PS3 and it's 7 PPC cores. Don't even want to get into other details… FPGA is just better as it recreates the original hardware logic enabling it to behave like the original hardware.
    Doing this in software is only possible due to the amount of CPU horsepower and multiple orders of magnitude higher instructions per clock available to run on todays CPUs, but the amount of work arounds and tricks needed make the software implementation not only hard but never possible to be exactly 100% true to the original.

  7. It's literally just emulation with compatible cartridge slots, it's still the most accurate emulation but it's still emu, and it's definitely NOT the future to preserve games, are u insane ?? Using an original cartridge is becoming a niche and unnecessary part of emu, most roms are 1:1 data dumps, and cartridges ate going to disappear at least at the same speed of the consoles if not faster, please stop promoting this as some kind of "legit" option above roms, ppl who know how this works have been laughing at this device for years lol 😆

  8. As I keep watching the video for time to time I can't stop thinking that MisTer it's always taking "inspiration" from Retroarch, and lacking way behind in every aspect. Software emulation it's near perfection 32bits and below. I hope that some day MLG take the time and make a similar video for retroarch, looking for the perfect settings for every system.
