The number of people in Korea who work just a few hours a day hit an all-time high last year.
Data from Statistics Korea shows the figure increased half-a-percent from a year ago to settle at nearly one-point-two million.
Workers fit into this category if they commonly work fewer than 18 hours a week.
The record figure is largely attributed to the sluggish pace of recovery… which is prompting more and more companies to hire temporary workers.
The number of workers in this category previously soared in 1998 and 2009… after the Asian financial crisis and the 2008 global financial crisis.
